Mapping Knowledge Resources

Public Service Commission of Canada

One of the first things the Public Service Commission of Canada did when they began building their knowledge management capacity was to identify what types of knowledge existed in the organization.

IME worked with the commission to develop a conceptual map that identified subject areas of expertise. Then, both explicit and tacit knowledge were identified.

The mapping of knowledge enabled the Commission to focus on the knowledge management team’s work.
