Alberta Economic Development
As a result of significant restructuring across the Alberta government,
Alberta Economic Development (AED) recognized the need to reassess how best to
serve their clients and the province. No longer able to support the diverse
programs they previously offered, the department realized the potential of their
information as a strategic resource. IME worked with the department to develop a
corporate Information Management and Electronic Communication Strategy that
linked internal information processes to service delivery. IME also assisted AED
with the implementation of this strategy. The results have been:
- programs and services that better meet the needs of clients,
- more cost effective delivery of services, and
- reduced duplication of resources and efforts.
AED is now a revitalized department with a new direction including a new
competitive intelligence service for clients.
